Plein-Air; the Art of Painting Outdoors
Welcome to Canada's largest celebration of art created in the open air, a centuries old tradition of capturing the beauty and atmosphere of the landscapes around us. An accomplished Plein-Air painter will take your breath away as they allow you a glimpse of the world through their eyes.
The Highlands East Cultural Association is proud to host this annual event in the breath taking Haliburton Highlands Thursday August 2nd through Sunday August 5th, 2012. Prepare to view some of the most stunning, unique and dramatic landscapes on the Canadian Shield, as over 45 of Ontario's most notable Plein-Air Artists record the beauty and wonder that surrounds them. Many of the painting locations are privately owned and are only available to view for the duration of the festival.
We welcome you to come and engage the Artist's as they work through the creative process on site. See some of the most scenic views that the Highlands has to offer and finish off your weekend by taking in the Exclusive one day showing and sale of works by the participating artists as you complete your experience with your Brush with the Highlands.
